Steven D. Pinkston

President

As a founder, Steve was instrumental in launching Brookston. His expertise in land, fundraising, business development, and deal making are invaluable. Steve’s successful track record over the last 35 years began at Hunt Oil Company. For the past 30 years, Steve has been a partner in numerous independent oil and gas companies, and real estate ventures and holdings. Steve is a member of the American Association of Professional Landmen and the East Texas Association of Petroleum Landmen. Steve graduated University of Texas at Austin in 1981 with a BBA in Petroleum Land Management.

 

D. Kelly Holbrook

CFO & COO

Kelly drives vision, strategic planning, business development and oversees the daily execution of Brookston’s operations. Prior to founding Brookston in 2015, Kelly spent 14 years at Vernon E. Faulconer, Inc. developing an understanding of legacy oil and gas operations, lean operating models, financial analysis, acquisitions evaluation, financial planning and reporting, risk management, human resources & business process reengineering. Kelly began his career as a CPA in the Kansas City office of Ernst & Young LLP in the tax and consulting departments for nine years. Kelly graduated from Texas Christian University with a BBA in Accounting in 1990.

 

Lauren E. Parker

Controller

Lauren manages Brookston’s accounting department and back office productivity. Prior to joining Brookston in 2016, she worked for nine years at Vernon E. Faulconer, Inc. as a Revenue Analyst, System and Accounting Analyst before being promoted to Revenue Manager. Lauren is responsible for Financial Statement presentation and preparation, Joint Interest Billing, Revenue Accounting, Production Accounting, acquisition data integration, and various Treasury functions. Lauren earned her BBA in Accounting from University of Texas at Tyler in 2011.

 

Brady Scarborough

ETX/NLA Land Manager

Brady joined Brookston in 2022. Prior to joining Brookston, Brady has worked in the Oil and Gas industry gaining over 15 years of experience in various Land related positions, starting as an independent landman and then moving in-house. His in-house career has been focused mainly on Acquisitions and Divestitures, Business Development, and growing land prospects for conventional and non-conventional drilling. Most notably, acquiring over $7.3 billion worth of assets for XTO/ ExxonMobil and acquiring over 30,000 acres for Tanos Exploration through leasing and acquisitions. Brady has significant experience in numerous fields nationwide, but in recent years has come home to his East Texas roots and gained an in-depth understanding of the East Texas basin. He holds a B.A and Masters Degree in Psychology from the University of Dallas.
