D. Kelly Holbrook
Co-Founder and President
Prior to founding Brookston in 2015, Kelly spent 14 years at Vernon E. Faulconer, Inc. developing an understanding of legacy oil and gas operations, lean operating models, financial analysis, and acquisitions and divestitures. Kelly began his
career as a CPA in the Kansas City office of Ernst & Young LLP in the tax and consulting practices for nine years. Kelly
graduated from Texas Christian University with a BBA in Accounting in 1990.
Steven D. Pinkston
Co-Founder and CEO
Steve was instrumental in launching Brookston given his expertise in land, fundraising, and business development.
Steve’s successful track record over the last 35 years began at Hunt Oil Company. For the past 30 years, Steve has been a partner in numerous independent oil and gas companies, and real estate ventures and holdings. Steve is a member of the American Association of Professional Landmen and the East Texas Association of Petroleum Landmen. Steve graduated from the University of Texas at Austin in 1981 with a BBA in Petroleum Land Management.
VP – Engineering
John joined Brookston Energy in 2023. He is responsible for managing all aspects of daily operations as well as identifying and capturing value within our existing and prospective properties. He has over 11 years of experience in drilling, completions, workovers, and recompletions in both conventional and unconventional wells. Prior to
Brookston, John worked for Merit Energy where he worked in numerous fields throughout Texas, Arkansas, Wyoming, and Michigan. He holds a B.S in Mechanical Engineering from Texas A&M University.
Director of Midstream
Corey began his career with Brookston in January 2020 with responsibility over Measurement and SCADA. In 2022, he was promoted to Midstream Manager where he is responsible for all Midstream operations
including central facilities, gathering, regulatory, SCADA and measurement operations. With 15 years of production and measurement experience working for Encana Oil & Gas, Devon Energy and Sheridan Resources in East Texas, Corey’s experience positions Brookston to pursue our midstream growth strategy.
VP – Geology
Jarrod joined the Brookston Energy team in June of 2023. Prior to Brookston, Jarrod served of Vice President – Exploration and Business Development Manager for Buffco Production, Inc. He has experience working conventional, unconventional, and behind pipe prospects in multiple basins in the United States. He started his oil and gas career at R. Lacy in Longview, TX as a geoscience intern before joining Buffco as as a Petroleum Geologist and then promoted to Exploration Manager. Jarrod graduated from Texas Tech with a Bachelor of Science in Geology in 2018 and from Stephen F. Austin with a Master of Science in Geology in 2020.
VP – Land
Wes joined Brookston Energy in September of 2023. Prior to Brookston, Wes spent over 9 years in the field as an Independent Landman, working and managing a multitude of projects for various clients across the major basins in Texas. Ranging from small PDP operations to large-scale, aggressive drilling programs, Wes has developed a strong understanding of the complexities of East Texas and North Louisiana land-needs and the core competencies required for successful unconventional development. He received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Texas at Tyler and holds a Master of Business Administration from Louisiana State University Shreveport. He is also a Certified Professional Landman and member of the AAPL, ETAPL, and ALTAPL.
Lauren E. Parker
Lauren manages Brookston’s accounting department and back office productivity. Prior to joining Brookston in 2016, she worked for nine years at Vernon E. Faulconer, Inc. as a Revenue Analyst, System and Accounting Analyst before being promoted to Revenue Manager. Lauren is responsible for Financial Statement presentation and preparation, Joint Interest Billing, Revenue Accounting, Production Accounting, acquisition data integration, and various Treasury functions. Lauren earned her BBA in Accounting from University of Texas at Tyler in 2011.
